🔥 What We Read
This episode continues our takedown of Queering Anarchism, an unhinged anthology of radical essays that merge anarchist ideology with queer identity politics. We dove into two essays that try to reimagine both gender and society by dismantling what they see as “normativity” in all its forms—and one bonus manifesto that pushes this logic to its synthetic extreme.
Ryan Conrad’s “Gay Marriage and Queer Love” attacks the idea of equality itself. He claims that gay marriage campaigns are not a step forward but a neoliberal trap that reinscribe state control, family violence, and capitalist assimilation.
J. Rogue’s chapter then builds on this with a dense, jargon-heavy analysis of transfeminism. She calls on anarchists to reject any universal female experience, embrace gender fluidity, and integrate transfeminism into broader anti-capitalist and anti-state struggle.
The Transfeminist Manifesto caps it off with a radical rejection of biology, boundaries, and even the concept of womanhood itself—demanding a future where identity is endlessly constructed and every category is dismantled.
🢨 Key Concepts
Equality is Oppression: The book argues that seeking “equality” within existing systems—like marriage or health care—only strengthens those systems.
Gay Marriage = Neoliberal Violence: Conrad believes campaigns for gay marriage privatize social support and reinforce heteronormative family structures.
Transfeminism = Revolution: J. Rogue asserts that anarchist feminism must be de-essentialized, anti-capitalist, and rooted in transfeminist theory.
Gender Abolition, Not Reform: The ultimate goal is not to expand definitions but to destroy them entirely—turning gender into an open-ended, anarchic concept.
Marriage Is Property: The institution of marriage is portrayed as a tool of control, not connection—one that should be eradicated, not reformed.
⚒️ Why It Matters
These texts aren’t just fringe rants. They offer a blueprint for the cultural and institutional breakdown the far left is actively pursuing. From dismantling the family to abolishing gender, their goal is not inclusion—it’s annihilation of anything stable, coherent, or inherited.
This isn’t about rights. It’s about revolution.
