Four ways you can support my work
Help me create the most unique unwoke content on the internet
I would never have guessed that I would end up doing unwoke activism (or any activism, really) as my profession, but I have to admit that I love what I do. I’ve been obsessed with dystopian things basically my whole life (it’s probably why I have the rather apocalyptic haircut), and I very literally get to spend my days researching and understanding real-life dystopia so that I can then share it with you and teach you what I know.
Don’t get me wrong, it gets to be a little black pilling at times. But it’s important we know the truth and I feel very blessed to have earned your trust enough that you’d like to know how to support my work.
I work for you. I do not take funding from large donors or agenda-driven organizations because I don’t want any political agenda attached to what I do. My only job is to tell you the truth, and bring the receipts so you can decide for yourself.
Here are four things you can do to support my work.
Whether you do one of them or all four, I appreciate you very much.
1) Fund My Work
My work is 100% funded by you. The vast majority of what I do is freely available, but supporters will get access to premium content, two private zoom calls with me and my supporter community each week, access to the supporter discord, and private events like Movie Night on Sundays and our monthly BITCHCRAFT crafting group.
I reinvest a significant portion of the earnings from my work back into doing more work, and there are a few projects I’m funding for now.
For instance, there is a socialist conference I’d like to go to in a few months to cover. Your support will allow me to do that.
Here are the best ways for you to fund my work:
Subscribe to this Substack. Substack is my content hub and where I’m trying to build up my subscriber base. When I get 1,000 paid subscribers, I get a new bright orange verification check mark! Help me reach that goal by subscribing.
Join my Locals community. I really believe I have the best community on the Locals platform. It’s full of positive people that will help keep you sane! Subscribe at kb.locals.com/support
Fund my work on my Patreon. I have many funding levels and exclusive perks available on Patreon. You can even get exclusive merch: patreon.com/unwoke
Subscribe on Twitter. You can now support my work by subscribing on Twitter at $5/month. Visit my profile @DrKarlynB to sign up.
Make a one-time gift. You can always make a one-time donation by visiting activelyunwoke.com/support
2) Subscribe to The Cult and join me on stream
I stream my show The Cult on my main YouTube channel Monday-Friday at 5pm eastern, and on Saturdays at 6pm eastern for Socialism Saturday. Subscribing and joining me for a live stream, or checking it out on demand afterward, is a great way to support me and participate.
I also have a separate Subtack for The Cult where I have archives of the show and (more importantly), I send out a daily newsletter prior to the show outlining what I’ll cover and sharing my show notes.
That way, if I’m discussing things you want to learn, you can join us and find relevant links later.
Subscribe here to get the newsletter for free (you can make a pledge to support my work if/when I turn on monetization, but you don’t have to). It’s a great way to see what I’m covering separately from my Actively Unwoke substack because the topics don’t always overlap.
3) Get some cool merch from Unwoke Art
I recently launched my Unwoke Art store, where you can get some really cool merch doing cultural commentary with a subversive anti-authoritarian attitude. I’m having so much fun with it! And every purchase funds my work.
The most popular item in the store is my Be Different Chesire Cat mug (you can get the design on other stuff too).
But my personal favorite design is There Goes Our Hero, with a dragon burning down Washington DC:
I also have an Unwoke Art Substack that you can subscribe to for updates when I release new designs. Sometimes I release designs in the merch store, and sometimes I just tell the stories behind them.
4) Share my work with your friends
Lastly, the most important thing you can do to help me is to share my work with your friends.
Let them know about this Substack
Share my YouTube videos
Make sure they know about the topics I’m covering
Of course, supporting my work financially is always nice, and I really appreciate it. But sharing the content on your social media platforms and with your friends and family is the single most important thing you can do to help me expand my reach.
I will teach you everything I know and answer as many questions as I can. In return, all I ask is that you help me teach more people.
And now I say to you what I say to the handful of SS whom I give a shit about - and I’m only here because Spirit said “her”. Once I establish the alliance with the Good and Right, Love and Light, I do as I am told.
So, you have 13,000 subscribers, another SS has some 70,000. If you were to lower your rate to just $1.00 per month, $11.00 for the year, you’d be tapping on holy stuff. If just one half of your 13,000 subscribed, that’d be $71,500 per year or $5850.00 per month plus super chats and sponsors and all of the rest. What’s more, I could afford to support at least 4 more contributors, really, at $11.00 per month, 10 more journalist activists could be supported. (I do think it’s interesting that Dr. Naomi Wolf only asks $7 although it’s still too much. The result is, every other month or so, I support a different person - you can’t count on me year in and year out. It is what it is.)
Do note, if your page is set up so that one must pay to comment on an article, I’ll never subscribe again. Either it is an open forum for discourse or it is a place to be talked at. Those are a dime a dozen and I for one do not participate. I would think $71,000.00 per year would be rather sweet? But what do I know?
Yeah, garage rock bands hello carlin but I think Andrew Tate was an idiot then watch his videos as always my name is idiot. I think it’s really don’t believe in rate because the fourth adulation mean it’s
