For a while now, I've been talking about expanding my community off of the Locals platform, where it has primarily been housed since I started this journey.

This is no shade on Locals. While there are many things that I like about Locals and they have always been supportive, I also think it provides a hindrance in that I believe there are people who will never join it because they perceive it to be a conservative platform.

We need the disaffected lefties and politically homeless.

The reality that I've always talked about is that we need to wake up more lefties and enlist them in the fight against the woke. You can't do that if the only place you're playing is with people the leftist can't stand. We have to be open to going where they are.

Yes, I know they cancel people. But the fact is that I've been on the receiving end of far more cancel culture on the right than I have on the left, and so I'm going to give them a shot and see how it goes. I also like the functionality of their platform and it's going to allow me to do things that Locals simply will not.

NOTHING IS GOING TO CHANGE IN LOCALS.

I cannot emphasize this enough. If you are a member of Locals and enjoy Locals, then don't worry - nothing is going to change for you. Continue to enjoy the content and community, including the community zoom calls, BITCHCRAFT, bookclub, and more. The only thing that will change is that those same benefits will be extended to Patreon users as well.

However, if you would like to support my work on Patreon, you will not only get access to the same perks you already receive in Locals at the $5 level, but at the higher levels you will also receive exclusive perks and sponsorship opportunities. This is not functionality that Locals currently offers me.
