Glenn Greenwald just did a great segment on this tonight (nothing about RFJ Jr.'s tweet, though)

I agree with you on RFK Jr.. At the end of the day, despite him saying some great things on vaccines and his anti-war statements, I remain skeptical. He has a long history, and some of it is troubling. He was a big Hillary supporter--huge red flag. (I'm not exactly an Alex Jones fan, but I agree with him 100% that she smells of sulfur.)

But that goes to a problem with the Democratic Party; they are like The Borg. Even Bernie Sanders is totally spouting the Party Line today, including on Ukraine. This is the party of Woke Imperialism. They pretended to be against Bush 43 an the Iraq War (even though half of them voted for it) but they are fine with sending an unlimited amount of weapons to Ukraine, as long as they have rainbow stickers on them (with zero accountability of where those weapons end up--for about 70% of them, we have no idea, according to a CBS report that was, of course, squashed. AND YET THE DEMOCRATS ARE AGAINST THE 2A FOR THEIR OWN CITIZENS! Hypocrisy and double-standards. It's the Democrat way.)

I'm supporting no one in 2024, at this point. The only real value I can see in RFK Jr running in the Dem Party is for him to cause "headaches" for them, to the use the word the liberal MSM unintelligentsia are using lately, Personally, I despise the duopoly and wish to see it break into a trillion pieces. I don't hate Republicans or Democrats (like they tend to hate each other). I hate the parties themselves and their stranglehold on our system. They simply do not represent us, to borrow the Italian leftist slogan.

Maybe RFK Jr really believes in affirmative action. It's hard to say; what is his motivation for pandering, given that he is already so hated for his views on vaccines, and more recently, on chemicals in the water making the friggin frogs gay (lol, OK, transgender. The former is Alex Jones)? What does he have to lose? (He recently upset a lot of people with his comments on Israel. I think he's shit on that issue, personally. But I don't think he's pandering, or at least, I don't think he's faking his embrace of Israel as blameless, in light of all evidence to the contrary. Reading just a little bit of Norman Finkelstein should disabuse an objective person of that notion. OK, I'm going way off on a tangent, as usual.)

I would prefer Dr. Cornel West over almost any of the other candidates--and I have disagreements with him, too. But he is clear in his positions, agree with him or not. Vivek seems to be similarly clear but I haven't looked into him. (I should.) Breaking up the duopoly will take many decades, and it simply may not ever happen, but I think it's necessary to move toward anything resembling a representative republic, let alone "democracy." Right now we have a plutocratic system with a woke veneer. Michael Rectenwald, a former Marxist, has many intriguing and (of course) controversial ideas about this. He was unjustly banned from Twitter and has yet to be reinstated by "free speech absolutist" Mr. Musk. How shocking. /s

Thank you Karlyn, for another terrific post! "Color indifferent" -- what a great term!

I sure wish an outlet like Mises Institute would regularly publish your essays.

Have you posted a critique about Desantis yet? If so, please refer me to it.

Thank you!!
