Christina Buttons is a reporter for The Daily Wire covering issues related to gender ideology.
And this morning on Twitter, she called a real victim of human trafficking a whore.
Why is an internet spat important?
Because there are an awful lot of people on the political right who claim to want to fight for issues that they do not give a flying flip about. They are only doing it for internet clout. When push comes to shove, their true colors always shine brightly.
Let’s walk through what happened.
Late last night, I broke down the new evidence that shows that Eliza Bleu was telling the world the truth when she said she was trafficked.
The TLDR version is this:
She was being trafficked when she did the World Star video that everyone is upset about getting removed from the internet.
The person trafficking her used fake Instagram profiles to set it up to sell her. World Star didn’t know what was happening when they paid for it.
She was on drugs in the video and in the interview she did about it, and had been trained to pretend and cover for her trafficker. That’s why it seems consensual.
She was able to present enough evidence to Twitter and YouTube for them to take this seriously, which is why the video is being removed.
Every single time that video or an image of it is being shared, you are sharing images and videos that were created when she was being trafficked.
We are all witnessing human trafficking in front of us, right now.
Eliza said as much this morning:
And Christina Buttons - a reporter for conservative outlet The Daily Wire - responded by calling her a whore.
I responded to Buttons calling her a garbage human being, which I completely stand behind. You call another woman a whore, and you are a garbage human being.
And, in predictable woke fashion, Buttons responded by transferring her outrage addiction to me. Because apparently, I’m to blame for her calling another woman a whore.
This is how the outrage mob works. Know it when you see it.
The mob will come for me now.
Things from my past will be twisted in the worst possible way to mean things they don’t. My friends will probably get doxed again, which the conservative right has done literally millions of times in the last year.
And I don’t care.
Speaking up for what is right and calling out the bad actors when they show themselves matters.
Otherwise, we are no better than the woke left.
Why am I covering this?
I could say it’s because Eliza Bleu has been experiencing a woke cancel mob for weeks, which puts it squarely in my lane.
But the truth is that I can’t not cover it.
Almost 20 years ago, I was raped. I know what being a survivor means.
But my rape happened in private, in a bedroom one night with a man who had too much to drink and who was too big and strong for me to get him to stop.
Eliza Bleu is being raped on the world stage by the political right.
She’s being raped over and over and over again, every day, for three weeks.
And no one is speaking against it.
So I will. I’m just one person. I don’t know if it’ll make a difference.
But I’m going to speak up and say this is wrong. I wouldn’t be able to look myself in the mirror if I didn’t.
