Unwoke Roundup Week 12: March 19-25, 2023
Supporter perks are at the bottom of the newsletter. Support my work to join us for private, unrecorded zoom calls, and movie night!
I’m completely funded by you! This month, I’d like to earn the support of 75 new paying subscribers. That will allow me to spend as much time as possible bringing you stories like this. We’re about 60% of the way to the goal so far!
If you appreciate my work, please consider a $5/month or $50/year subscription.
If you can’t financially support my efforts, please consider sharing my work with your friends and family to spread the message. I can’t do it without you.
PAID SUPPORTER PERKS
If you are already paid subscriber on Substack, you can find your links to this week’s supporter perks at the bottom of this post - that helps me put them behind a paywall. This week’s perks are:
Movie night in the Supporter Discord tonight (Sunday) at 8pm eastern. This week, we’re watching Goodfellas.
Two private, unrecorded supporter zoom calls on Monday evening and Wednesday afternoon.
If you are a supporter on another platform like Locals or Patreon, you can find the perk information on that platform.
Well, it was a little bit of a lighter week this week content-wise, and I apologize if anyone is disappointed in that.
I think egos get in the way of making a lot of progress and, sadly, that’s exactly what happened this week with the break up of the New Hampshire Mises Caucus. Those who stay out of Libertarian politics probably have no idea what that is, and if you don’t please feel free to disregard it, but it was probably the Mises Caucus in general was probably the last remaining political group I was aligned with. This week, they purged everyone out of their New Hampshire chapter, including me. I covered the breakup here and here on my other substack The Red Pill Diaries.
I also did this stream about it today, for people who would like more context about how the political machine works:
The moral of the story, I hope, is an example of why I choose to be independent and why I have yet to have any experience aligning with a political group that doesn’t turn out to be disappointing.
I will work with anyone who wants to do productive things that make a difference in real people’s lives.
I will not work with people to bolster egos or to fulfill a single person’s need for power. The only initiatives that can remain pure are independent with selective alliances when it makes sense.
So, that’s what I’m going to continue to do…and I promise more unwoke content this week to make up for the distraction of last week.
But I did do some great streams this past week. Here’s what you may have missed:
I also launched a new design in the Unwoke Art store:
