This happened as the university President testified about antisemitism on campus in Congress.

Decolonization means removing the oppressive force of capitalism from indigenous land. The idea is that the land belonged to the collective and was taken and privatized by the evil settler colonialists (capitalists).
The revolution is to de-privatize the land and return it to its original caretakers.
This is why you hear land blessings at the start of many woke presentations. It’s a nod to the original caretakers of the land, which has been privatized under the oppressive force of capitalism.
For students who have been indoctrinated into Marxism all of their lives in the schools, Palestine and Hamas represent their glorious revolution against capitalism. They believe that none of us are free until all of us are free from capitalism.
That’s why, as Columbia University’s President was testifying in front of Congress about the rampant pro-Hamas antisemitism on campus, the students formed their own autonomous zone called the Gaza Solidarity Encampment to be in solidarity with their “comrades.”

“Liberation” means to free oneself from the oppressive force of capitalism.
When land is “liberated,” that means it is de-privatized and returned to the people:
Of course, police are not welcome in “liberated” zones because they are considered to be the “managers of private property.”
The protest was championed by the Party for Socialism and Liberation:
Notice they call each other “comrade” in this post:
Meanwhile, in Congress, a representative made the argument that Columbia University and its students are cursed by God for not supporting Israel:
One member of Congress asked why “folx” is spelled with an “x”:
And our hero, Rep Joe Wilson of South Carolina, advocated for capitalism in the face of community tyranny:

Fight back against the woke and support my work.
I believe the woke - on the left and the right - are an existential threat to our values as Americans. Some of them know it, most of them are just useful innocents. Regardless, fighting back against this woke cultural revolution is my full-time job. I’m dedicated to exposing the woke ideology in our country, helping people to understand what’s going on, and providing spaces for non-woke people to connect, support each other, and plan ways to fight back.
Here’s how you can help.

The woman to whom most of Banks questions were directed said in response to his question about folx that perhaps the student didn't know how to spell reminded me of Kamala Harris a bit... the over simplification of the issue, the coyness, the feigning stupidity...
If Banks had been knowledgeable, he could have called her out and put her between a rock and a hard place... he could have started out as he did and then after she feigned ignorance, point out that the language was socialist and that she would have us believe that the school is so out of touch with its students as to not know what ideologies the students are pushing in the name of the college.
Maybe the first thing we should do with the zines is to send them to congress... then maybe they would have a better understanding of the socialist language and can then put some of these ppl between a rock and a hard place.
We should simplify deprive them of all the fruits of “evil capitalism “ and let them fend for themselves in Gaza!
