Woke 101: The first thing you need to do to fight back against the left
You must understand your enemy.
This article is a part of the Woke 101 series, which will get you up to speed on the basics they don't teach you when you become a soldier in the culture war.
If you appreciate what I’m doing, please consider a subscription for $8/month or $80/year.
When I originally launched the Woke 101 series, it was intended to break down basic concepts that I wish I had learned when I entered the culture war.
However, what I’ve learned over the last year is that I didn’t go basic enough.
Almost every day, I’m asked the following question: “What can we do to fight back against the left?”
They expect me to give them a checklist of things to do (if you’re looking for that, I literally wrote a book with checklists in it). I used to start with that, and give people a list of things to do.
But in the last year, something has become resoundingly clear to me: Most people do not understand the left as much as they think they do.
I get it, the left is complicated. Of course, that’s a feature, not a bug. It’s intended to be complicated. And average people are busy and can’t focus on understanding an academic paper, or watching the latest three-hour stream in between dinner and when they put their kids to bed.
They see videos of crazy pink-haired people on Tik Tok and see videos of black kids fighting white kids posted by conservative influencers on Twitter, and they believe that represents the left.
All of that is a distraction designed to generate outrage for likes clicks, and money.
It creates a false idea of what’s happening on a large scale, and hides many of the more dangerous elements of the left.
So, I’ve started changing my answer to someone that people don’t want to hear when they ask the question: What can we do?
The answer is that you need to learn.
You need to forget everything you think you know about the left, and start over.
That’s not to say that everything you currently know is wrong, but there are also certainly some things that are getting in your way of fully understanding your enemy.
So, understanding them must be the first goal - if you do not understand what the woke (authoritarian) left believes and how they operate, you will never be able to defeat them.
I know that so many people want to skip right to tactics…but if you do that without understanding the enemy you’re fighting, you will execute the tactics imperfectly and gain exactly zero ground.
This is how we got book banning (which doesn’t work, and never will, because it’s not how they’re indoctrinating your kids), crusades to separate the LGB from the T (it’s not the T that’s the problem, it’s the Q), and moral outrage mobs against drag queens at optional events that no one has to bring their kids to.
How much energy and money has been wasted on tactics that will not only fail to make things better, but will actually end up making things worse?
If you want to turn back the cultural revolution in America, the first thing you need to do is learn.
And then you need to teach, because grassroots awareness and personal conversations with friends and family is the only way we wake people up.
We need to create an army of people that not only understand the left, but that are able to explain what is happening to their friends and family in plain English.
I want to create a definitive resource to help people learn in 2024. That’s what Woke 101 will be: a series of short articles that cut right to the core of the concepts we need to teach others.
Here are the topics on the list so far. Let me know if you have any suggestions in the comments:

Fight back against the woke and support my work.
I believe the woke - on the left and the right - are an existential threat to our values as Americans. Some of them know it, most of them are just useful innocents. Regardless, fighting back against this woke cultural revolution is my full-time job. I’m dedicated to exposing the woke ideology in our country, helping people to understand what’s going on, and providing spaces for non-woke people to connect, support each other, and plan ways to fight back.
Here’s how you can help.

I love this list. Thanks to having followed Karlyn since the Trump Rally article, I already know the answer to most of these. My problem is expressing them to others. Maybe having the ideas partitioned will help my brain to mouth circuit.
Looks like you ticked the box for everything we have studied this year.
