Zines: The Far-Left's Propaganda Tool

Zines have long been a favorite weapon of the far-left—a medium through which they articulate their ideas, spread propaganda, and recruit new members to their cause. They’re especially popular among queer anarcho-communists and have played a significant role in shaping the narratives of today’s queer activists.

By examining their propaganda, we gain a window into their ideology and tactics.

This is a Jewish trans (queer) zine that was written in 1999 that references the goal of existing outside of the gender binary with disturbing imagery designed to shock the reader.

Learn more about their desire to abolish gender here.

Warning: Elements of this zine contain adult content and are not safe for work. Continue at your own risk.

he goal of queer theory is to abolish the gender binary of men and women: "Please see me beyond gender. Please know that I don't fit into this stupid fucking system. Please remind me that there have always been people like me. Creatures who were not men or women."

The zine introduces a genderqueer, anti-nazi resistance fighter Claude Cahun.

The protagonist of the zine has a dream about being in space where they are not the correct alien gender. So, they cut off their own dick.

"If someone can't be bothered to get my fucking pronouns right, this tells me several things about them: 1) They don't care enough about me or other trans people to make the small effort. 2) They don't know shit about transpeople and don't think our lives are important enough to educate themselves about. 3) They don't see me. 4) I am not safe with them.

"I'm queer as fuck + I'm going to carve a space in your brain for trannies. Yeah, it'll hurt but its the good kind of pain."
