I can certainly respect him reaching out with his concerns and understand why he has them. He sounds like a naive kid though and that concerns me... he's finding community and purpose through this group for which I won't begrudge him, but that is what all cults do.... they make you feel seen and like what you do matters and then perverts it into doing what they want. I doubt all those kids in China started out thinking they were going to kill their teachers etc.... yet that's where they ended up.

To the people who say Karlyn has A TONE…if you speak to her without being a dick, you too can have a pleasant conversation like she had with John. I actually really enjoyed it.

I think we can convert him to our side :) Mental illness exists on all sides. There are shooters from their side too. Props to him for reaching out. You don’t see that too much today and I miss that in society. Good responses Karlyn. The parental rights threats are real, so he should investigate that and if the RCA doesn’t agree with the abolish the family stuff then they should say it openly. We are normal people in your audience concerned about the future.

I am just as concerned about some twisted right-winger going postal as I am some twisted left-winger going postal.

Interesting that he mentions someone in a car driving into a parade. Now, where have I heard of anyone doing that in the last few years? Hmmm.

Well, people have a right to hold communist ideas in a free society that allows a marketplace of ideas. I wish the speaker had talked more about what those were to him, rather than speculate on what Karlyn's audience would do. I am a fairly progressive lifelong Democrat (who until 4 years ago would never have considered voting for Trump!). I know people much more conservative than me who are not fans of Karlyn. So, it's complicated. I agree too there are overlaps in our Venn diagram. The lone violent person feels helpless - so we should prevent people from feeling helpless! Yet it's so interesting talking to the Republicans around me - they feel helpless because the bigwigs in their party do not want to win! And doesn't bode well for the Democratic Party, the Socialist Party, of what-have-you - how can we have democracy when party official (and frankly, politicians on all sides) get paid no matter who wins?

It always amazes me that Socialists believe they will have more human rights and a better life with communism and socialism than what we have today. The freedom to speak freely and to choose how to live one's life are not hallmarks of communism. Some of the simplest of examples, such as China demanding a Star Wars poster not feature a black actor so prominently on their movie poster, are indicative of how socialism, once rooted, will find a way to "neutralize" everyone who does not fit their definition of a "citizen" or comrade. In a previous comment on this thread, someone referred to this as a cult; - I agree and history supports this., repeatedly. I'd rather struggle with capitalism than have all my choices taken from me with communism.
