talk about being black-pilled... the dystopian world is here, and you’re right: stop the infighting and “reeeee”-ing, and let’s focus on coming together and fighting against the things that matter as a unified front. thanks for the dystopian recap, Karlyn. love your work and overall principles.

You're really inspired today. These are coming from the heart.

I doubt the veracity of the AI report. It's the NY times reporting it after all and it's too juicy and would easily spin widespread panic. But if that's true, I think that's a solution to all the previous things in the article.

Who would you prefer to be your supreme ruler? Sky net or a generic dictator?

Thinking about it, if socialism was ever to work, having an AI leader would be the best bet. At least they are not motivated by greed. Let's just hope they don't get to Ultron's conclusion.

Fair point!

Which one? The news about AI wanting to be alive might be fabricated to increase engagement (and as proof, this is my longest comment and I doubt it in a conscious level) or that AI would be the most suitable socialist leader?

I can only comment on my own experience. I am a mother that carried and gave birth to her biological children. I have a bond with these children that go deeper than anyone can imagine. An adoptive parent can feel a strong bond with their child too but I honestly think the biological bond is stronger. Hearing from adoptive children you hear all the time that though they love their parents they still yearn for the knowledge and connection of their biological family. My third child is also autistic. They are vulnerable. It sickens me that there are those that want to exploit that vulnerability and call it “progress”.

I have heard this too that just because you carry the child doesn’t mean you’ll have a strong connection with them because the genetic component is missing. I have a friend that tried ivf and couldn’t conceive because she and her husband are older and the egg and sperm weren’t healthy enough so they got a snowflake baby. This is a fertilized egg that a family decided they didn’t want, but rather than have it destroyed you can donate to someone like my friend who couldn’t do it herself. The issue of infertility is such a personal issue I didn’t bring these ethical issues to my friend, but I do wonder what will happen as her daughter grows up. Since getting your dna checked is so popular you’d hope they child would be told so they don’t get a big shock later. My friend wants to be honest when it seems age appropriate but her husband wants it to be a secret. I think it’s a pride thing that they couldn’t get pregnant on their own. So many ethical and moral issues being raised as our scientific gets more sophisticated at being able to create life.

I feel such strong empathy for those that cannot conceive who so desperately want to. And I don’t think that they shouldn’t have a child in a way they can. I believe adoption is a beautiful thing. Children should never be left without a home. And I also understand that sometimes biological families aren’t always great. I have had to deal with trauma cause by family. But even with all of the different situations that can happen I still don’t think it should be replaced. I hope your friend will be able to tell his daughter when the time is right. I believe doing it a certain way with honesty can make their relationship stronger

I have a solution. We need to accelerate the movement to build communities of health throughout the world that reject anti-woke, anti-common sense philosophies. We do not participate. https://livingagoodlifechurch.wordpress.com/

I agree with you 100%. So many people don’t want to hear about it because it’s upsetting. They must be convincing themselves it will never be an issue for someone close to them so they will just keep their heads in the sand. When it does happen to someone they know they will be shocked and wonder “how did this happen” and it will be too late.

The wokism is NOT coming from the Right. Yes, there are some on the Right who are cringe-worthy, but it DWARFS what I see coming from the Democratic Left. And some of the name-calling on the Right is just an attempt to fight back in any way that we can.

I was happy to find you here on Substack, Karlyn — I found you long ago and admired your stance as the “Grandma Killer” (ha!). You continue to point out many important things. And of course you have to be free to write about anything you want, and say whatever it is you want to say.

I admire how you state your goal regarding how many paying subscribers you are hoping to get. VERY effective, and I’m tempted... but (and this is not meant as a “bribe” or anything, but just to let you know why) I prefer to $$ support those who are fighting this censorship and wokism head-on as a counter to the corporate media, tech companies, etc.

Glenn Greenwald, whom I support, explained this very well when one of his listeners on Local asked him the question as to why he criticized the Left more than the Right... he said something to the effect that the Right is OVERLY criticized and censored more than enough as it is — so he doesn’t have to do what is already being done (apologies to Glenn Greenwald for mangling his reply, but I understood what he meant).

No need to respond. I almost didn’t leave this comment, but out of respect for you I wanted you to know why I’m not a paid subscriber. That’s all.

Woke is absolutely coming from the right and I have no problem with you not being a paid subscriber if you think you are going to use $5/month or $50/year into pressuring me to say the works you want me to say if they are not the truth. If you do not know that I spend the majority of my time discussing the left then you are not paying attention anyway.

I'm going to start making comments for paid supporters only just to avoid comments like this, and if anyone has an issue with that, you will know it's because I am tired of receiving comments from conservatives who are upset they are not being told the talking points they want to hear.

Of course they want to use male bodies for surrogacy. Men have the highest suicide rate. After they have been assisted on their way, they won't be needing that body. Canadians take note.

The health director of each state and each county is ultimately responsible for child outcomes related to medical procedures. Treatment without diagnosis is not treatment. No diagnosis exists for Trans because Trans is not an identifiable medical condition. It is opinion about self.
