A new name, a BETTER DAY

This Substack is branded under my name - karlyn.substack.com - because I always wanted to keep the possibility open of operating it under a different title than Actively Unwoke. It’s not that I don’t love the Unwoke brand - it’s not going anywhere, and it’s conceivable the name will come back at some point in the future. But here’s why it’s getting a little update for the time being.

What’s in a name? A bit of satire.

Sometimes, the best way to handle powerful people is to mock them. Why? Because when we poke fun at the woke left, they often make mistakes—and we use those mistakes to push back.

But what about the woke right? Let’s find out. And who better to start with than their biggest leader: James Lindsay.

James has built a platform convincing millions that the radical left in America is a gnostic sex cult masterminded by the WEF, the UN, Oprah, and new-age spiritualists. Yes, really. Lately, he’s been on a mission to label anyone who criticizes him or doubts that classical liberalism will save the day as “woke right.”

Ironically, there’s nothing more woke than slapping a label on people you disagree with to smear and discredit them. Trust me, I know—James has spent the last year doing it to me publicly and even longer behind the scenes.

I’ve documented parts of my ongoing feud with James here. My criticisms are rooted in his work at New Discourses and are purely intellectual. After thousands of hours watching real leftist training sessions and attending their events undercover, I believe James is misleading millions about the far left. In doing so, he’s letting them gain more ground, not less.

For over a year, I’ve raised these concerns. Instead of engaging intellectually, James has responded with personal insults and character attacks. That’s not discourse—it’s deflection.

You deserve BETTER.

People deserve better than what James Lindsay is offering them about the left. Understanding the enemy is critical, and the misinformation he spreads only makes that harder.

This is a serious issue. If people don’t truly understand what they’re fighting, they’ll never win.

James refuses to engage in intellectual debates, resorting instead to insults and name-calling against anyone who questions him. So, how do we address that?

With satire. Humor can expose the flaws in his arguments without hostility. There’s no need for aggression—I’ll fight with facts, reason, and intellect.

The goal isn’t just to criticize but to prove there’s a better way. Because the truth deserves nothing less.

Let’s see where this experiment with the woke right leads. After all, satire is just truth wrapped in humor.
