Leftists are using book bans to turn your kids into activists

I’ve always argued that book bans (and yes, I’m going to call them that) are a bad idea. From the moment Moms For Liberty started it in 2021, I was against it.
This led to me being banned by the organization, even though I was a dues-paying member.
But I stand by this position for many reasons, including the following:
The books are a symptom of the problem, not the root of the problem.
The real problem are your school’s policies and curriculum. This is where they are indoctrinating your kids.
They don’t need the books to do this - they have entire social justice curriculum for every subject area starting in elementary school.
When the only thing you focus on is books, you miss things that are far more impactful.
Every time you ban one book, they will replace it will five more that you don’t know about.
Socialists have dozens of publishers that are turning out more books directed at kids and young adults than you can dream of. It’s not just one or two. There are hundreds of books.
This keeps you in a constant state of chasing your tail, constantly chasing the next book, and then the next book after that.
Meanwhile, you’re ignoring things like policy and curriculum that are more impactful.
It’s a public relations nightmare. Not only is it activating far-left activists and raising money, but it’s also driving independents and centrists into the open arms of the left.
You are not winning the language battle - the left is. There is nothing that can undo the damage that has already been done.
But here’s the most important reason: The left wants you focused on book bans because they are using it to gain power over you very successfully.
Yes, you read that correctly.
The left WANTS you focused on book bans.
And they’re using the obsession with the books to turn your children into activists they can use against you.
When I infiltrated the Socialism 2023 conference, I heard about book bans in almost every single session. They were practically glowing as they discussed the right’s obsession with books and strategizing how they can use it against you.
They know what you’re doing, and they know they can use it to pass more laws and enact more policies that you don’t know about that will be far more impactful at turning your kids against you.
They are literally using book bans to turn your children into activists to use against you.
A few weeks ago, in a supporter-exclusive SPY STREAM, I went inside the Urban Librarians Conference. My favorite Marxist librarian Emily Drabinski was the keynote:
During Emily’s talk, she got a question from a fellow librarian that gave away the ball game: He asked for her thoughts on using book bans to weaponize kids as activists against book bans:
“As a YA (young adult) librarian, I’d say we should focus on teens and tweens to do interactive, engaging, and fun programming around banned books. I say this because every time I do, they are floored to learn that some books are banned…my point is that the more we talk about the absurdity of book banning to young people, the more allies we gain and future taxpayer to support libraries.”
Emily then answered that her kid had experienced the same thing at their summer camp.

Book banning must be abandoned as a strategy because every single time the so-called “anti-woke” movement uses it, they actually lose ground. They make the situation worse.
It’s not an exaggeration to say that, if it continues, this will be the thing that ushers in the Marxist utopia. That’s how effective the woke left is at using it against us.
I know that a lot of people don’t want to hear this. I understand that. There are good reasons to not want your kids to read Gender Queer.
Sadly, Moms For Liberty led a lot of people off a cliff and silenced anyone who questioned the wisdom of it. Now we know they’ve done more damage to the “anti-woke” movement than almost any group on the left, because every single time they thought they were winning on books, they were actually losing.
Their irresponsibility hurt all of us.
And if it keeps going, it will sink us.
