My approach to discussing the woke ideology is always in terms of practical application. How does it manifest in the real world?
In that regard, I differ from my contemporaries, who tend to focus more on philosophy, literature, academic thought coming out of higher education, and things like the Frankfurt School. All of those are worthy topics to consider and should be addressed.
But my approach is different because I don’t spend a lot of time discussing the origin of these ideas. I focus on practical application in the real world.
I’m not suggesting my approach is better or worse - I’ve just always been more interested in practice than I have been in theory.
In other words, how does “woke” affect normal people in their everyday lives?
To gain my understanding of what it means to be woke, I’ve watched thousands of hours of their content, trainings, programs, private speeches and webinars, the things they say when they believe only their friends are watching.
Over the last three years, I’m fairly certain I’ve consumed more of this type of content than anyone else on the planet so that I can learn their language and their beliefs and then teach that information to all of you in the simplest way I can, to make it easy to understand for everyone.
I’ve suffered for all of you. You’re welcome.
There was a recent discussion on Twitter regarding the definition of “woke.”
People have all sorts of ideas about what it means.
Some say it means critical social justice.
Others say it’s a mind virus.
Some call it socialism, postmodernism, extreme political correctness.
And others say it’s a victim mentality and an inability to solve problems.
There is truth in all of these definitions. However, I think the answer is much more simple and much more nefarious.
Based on everything I’ve seen and studied, I actually think the definition is much more simple.
Woke means authoritarian.
Woke means a stifling of the human spirit.
It means demanding to control the speech, and therefore the thoughts, of another person.
It means using threats of social ostracization and financial ruin to force others to comply.
Woke is a collectivist ideology. It means the demands of the most vocal in the group are prioritized above the wishes of everyone else. It is the tyranny of the perceived majority. Mob rule, if you will.
And here’s one people really don’t like to acknowledge: Woke is not the exclusive domain of the political left.
Woke can exist on the left, and it can exist on the right. It’s not exclusive to the far-left progressives - conservatives can act just as woke as their liberal counterparts, engage in the same cancel culture, the same bullying, the same smear tactics, the same campaigns to deplatform and silence people they disagree with.
If you engage in a cancel mob and threaten social ostracization to silence someone you disagree with to get them to bend the knee to your view of the world, then you are woke.
We don’t always need to use flowery, complicated language to describe relatively simple concepts.
Woke means authoritarian. And that means to be Actively Unwoke means to be Actively Unauthoritarian.

Fight back against the woke and support my work
I believe the woke - on the left and the right - are an existential threat to our values as Americans. Some of them know it, most of them are just useful innocents. Regardless, fighting back against this woke cultural revolution is my full-time job. I’m dedicated to exposing the woke ideology in our country, helping people to understand what’s going on, and providing spaces for non-woke people to connect, support each other, and plan ways to fight back.
Here’s how you can help.
Excellent work
