One thing that has been hitting my ear like an instrument out of tune in an orchestra for years is when I hear politicians talk about “Democracy”, or especially “OUR Democracy”. Well before I wandered into internet rabbit holes, I would hear it in an address or speech and it would hit me at the time - they’re using that word to be heard one way but to mean another. They don’t mean a system where everyone gets a vote when they say that. I’ll see if I can find some examples.
