I would absolutely LOVE to see Bret take you up on this. I have observed him stepping through thought processes to pick up on what others try to gloss over in their efforts to spin up a narrative. I think he's personally borne the brunt of extreme-left, unhinged protest actions. He seems to me to be above the average in his willingness to buck the media line and dig underneath for the actual facts.
I really do hope you get a response inviting you to sit down for a long-form exploration of what you have documented.
Did he accuse you of having Borderline PD?? Hmm... Ok, I've got something here you might like...
From age 11, I spend a lot of time around my mother to help her deal with an unknown mental problem that would destroy her life every 3 years or so. When I was 19 I explained all her symptoms to a psychiatrist and how they all logically connected to each other. The doc told me I had listed every symptom in the DSMIII for Borderline PD, and a few extras.
My point is, now, 30 years later, I am INTIMATELY familiar with it and I recognize it very quickly without looking for it. So, I already knew you, Karlyn, did not have it bc of things Ive seen you do. But before I even joined all this, I was pretty sure that Lindsey does have it. I could give you a list of reasons.
I know of a few ways to check it in someone else without them knowing. You will not find these in the DSM.
1) (This one is kind of funny. ) They will not let you refer to them, figuratively, to make a point;
***If you said, "Lindsey, for the sake of argument, imagine that instead of having a math background, you were a banker, instead..." He will interupt you saying, "Yes, but I'm NOT a banker. This is stupid!" and not allow you to put him in that position.
2) If I asked you who you trust the most and why, I'm assuming you would give an answer that refers to objectively verifiable reasons such as, "every time he says he'll do something, he does it. If he cant, he will mitigate it by letting me know with plenty of time."
But, if you asked a BPD person WHY they trust a certain person, they will give you a non-objective non tangible reason like, "It's a VIBE I get" or "I just know."
3) If you did something wrong to someone especially something big, do you apologize for it? Yes, I'm guessiing.
A person with BPD will not. The reason is, they just did something bad to you, and are expecting retaliation. Therefore, the idea of them being open and vulnerable to you at that point when they are expecting vengeance is INSANE to them. They will let entire relationships die due to this.
Brett is one of the few I disagree with on may political issues and yet highly respect. I would never discourage you from trying this at all but it will probably take more like maybe a 3rd party who knows Brett but is not as high up as him (in the political food chain) to reach out to make a connection between you. Whatever happens you just have to keep doing what you do. b/c there will always be those who disagree, those who want to be difficult and those who want to do both.

Fingers crossed.
I love the whole idea and fully support this. I don’t really know if I can reach him, but I will try.
I would love to see you two in that discussion!
