I could tell you knew all along that you were covering for his inadequacies because you had respect for James. His snow globe is small and comfortable, I think it's a bit dirty as well. Maybe you have shook it and loosened up a bit of that snow and cleared a bit of the globe's glass so that he could actually wake up.
Wish I could say I was surprised. Academics are notoriously thin-skinned.
