Since October 7th, 2023, a large contingent of the so-called “anti-woke” space has been confused at the emergence of the Queers For Palestine movement. Each time it’s brought up, the retort is that queer people would be thrown off a roof in Palestine.
Of course, this misses the point entirely.
But here’s the TLDR on this issue:
Queer has nothing to do with being gay or trans. It’s a far-left political ideology.
Queer liberation means the annihilation of capitalism, according to the Mary Nardini Gang, authors of the Queer Marxism Manifesto.
Leftists believe that Palestinians are fighting to decolonize land that was stolen from them by the settler colonists. Colonization means privatizing indigenous land under the oppressive force of capitalism.
The far left believes that no one is free until everyone is free from capitalism:
Therefore, Queers For Palestine has nothing to do with being gay or trans or Muslim or Jewish. When you understand that the goal of the far left is always to overthrow capitalism, you will understand this phrase.
Queers For Palestine means the comrades of the far left are coming together in solidarity in order to overthrow capitalism. No one is free until everyone is free…from the oppressive force of capitalism.
When we look at this post by Andy Ngo, the signs make a lot more sense when you understand that Intifada means “worldwide socialist revolution” and “Queers 4 Palestine” is a rallying cry against capitalism.
